The Russian Red Cross starts receiving refugees, internally displaced persons and migrants in Moscow
      15.11.2022

The Russian Red Cross (RRC), Russia's oldest humanitarian organization, has opened a public reception office in Moscow as part of the work of the RRC Migration Center. The reception will be held in person, and refugees, displaced persons, migrants, and stateless persons from all over the world will be able to apply. They will have access to legal counseling, socio-practical and psychological support.

The RRC Public Reception Office works within the Russian Red Cross Migration Center. It provides access for migrants, refugees, displaced persons, and stateless persons to humanitarian aid, legal support, socio-practical and psychological support in Russia. It also hosts the RRC Training Center for children of refugees and migrants.

You can get advice and support at: 1 Fersman St., bld. 1, corpus 1, entrance 4, Moscow, Russia.

Reception hours for victims of the Ukrainian crisis:

      Tuesday, Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Reception hours for migrants and refugees from other countries:

      Monday, Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

You can also get help by calling the Russian Red Cross migration hotline: 8 800 600 73 72 (daily from 09:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).

      E-mail: migration@redcross.ru.

“On the basis of the public reception office of our Migration Center people will get free legal assistance, psychosocial support, broad access to medical services and additional education for children. For example, our experts will help those who wish to apply for voluntary health insurance policies and voluntary vaccination against COVID-19”, said Pavel Savchuk, President of the Russian Red Cross.

The RRC Public Reception Office will provide refugees, displaced persons and migrants in Moscow and the Moscow region with access to legal, humanitarian and psychological assistance and additional education for children (courses of Russian as a foreign language, subjects from school curricula). In the course of their work, specialists will map persons’ needs, and then refer them to lawyers, psychosocial support experts, and, if necessary, specialized non-profit organizations or government institutions.

The Public Reception Office is supported by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR): special attention will be paid to legal and psychosocial assistance to asylum seekers, refugees and displaced persons from Ukraine and other countries.

On the basis of the RRC Public Reception Office, call center staff will collect information about refugees, displaced persons, migrants, and stateless persons not only from the hotline, but also through colleagues in the regions. Beneficiaries’ needs will be processed and evaluated with further reference to corresponding services.
