The first group of residents fr om the Belgorod region, who got injured by shelling and were staying in the most frequently shelled areas, have been invited for health resort treatment paid for by the Russian Red Cross (the RRC) in full volume.
The health resort treatment is organized jointly with Rosmolodezh.Dobro movement via the MOSGORTUR platform in cooperation with the Belgorod region authorities. The residents enlisted by the regional authorities for health resort treatment can book their tour on the platform to be subsequently paid by the RRC. Beyond that, with the support of Russian Railways, all program participants get their travel expenses paid, which allows the beneficiaries to get to health resorts without additional costs.
“We are aware of the fact that the physical and mental health of those suffered envisages a comprehensive approach, so the Russian Red Cross is committed to do everything possible to support those who need it utmost. The health resort treatment is an important step towards restoring health for thousands of people. More than 50 people from the Belgorod region, who got injured and need rehabilitation, have already travelled to health resort centers in the Tver region, Krasnodar as well as the Republic of Crimea. In total, this program is expected to cover 4,200 injured people”, commented Pavel SAVCHUK, the President of the Russian Red Cross.
Each group of people shall spend from 15 to 21 days on vacation. During this time, the beneficiaries will receive the necessary treatment and recovery procedures to promote the rehabilitation and recovery.
The Russian Red Cross continues to monitor and support the residents of the Belgorod region who suffered from shelling and live in the most frequently shelled areas, ensuring maximum efficiency and targeting of the assistance provided. In the near future, the next groups of those suffered will be invited for the health resort treatment.
This project is part of a vast program of the Russian Red Cross to support victims of the Ukrainian crisis. Since the beginning of 2024, 1,800 food kits and 5,000 liters of water have been delivered to the Belgorod region. Other basic necessities were also satisfied, such as 5,000 sets of plasticware, 1,000 towels, 1,200 hygiene kits and 1,000 bedding sets. Additionally, 1,200 food and clothing vouchers were delivered to the region, of which 800 were designated for clothing and 400 for groceries in chain stores. The value of each voucher amounted to RUB 5,000. Another 2,500 food vouchers for RUB 5,000 each were also purchased by the RRC. These vouchers are forwarded both to the Belgorod region and to neighboring regions to wh ere those affected by the shelling were evacuated. The vouchers are designated for elderly people, pregnant women, families with family members with disabilities, single parents with minor children, as well as large families with three or more minor children.
