As part of the Spring Week of Kindness, the Russian Red Cross has launched its own digital platform for volunteer fundraising ‘Friends of the Russian Red Cross’ (friends.redcross.ru). This is a modern and user-friendly tool that will enable anyone who wants – whether individuals or corporate partners – to initiate fundraising campaigns independently and involve their communities in charity work.
The new online platform opens up opportunities for anyone who would like not only to make a one-off donation, but also to organise their own charity fundraising campaign. Users will be able to launch fundraising related to important events – birthdays, weddings and personal milestones – as well as organize various sports events, concerts and other online and offline events by inviting friends, colleagues, followers and subscribers to support fundraising for the Russian Red Cross. As an option, you can indicate a specific goal for the fundraising initiative, for example, to help people affected by the flood or residents of the border regions.
“Launching our own fundraising platform is an important step for us towards making charity truly accessible and personal. We see that people want to help others but don’t always know how to begin. Now everyone has the opportunity to turn their own idea into real help. We hope that this platform will bring together thousands of caring people across the country and help us build a strong community of supporters contributing to the Russian Red Cross, so helping others will become a natural part of everyday life”, emphasized Pavel Savchuk, President of the Russian Red Cross.
The platform can be used by both individuals and corporate partners. Companies will be able to set up their own teams and involve staff members in charity initiatives.
Users that have organised a fundraising activity will be able to see the number of people who have supported their initiative and the number of days remaining until the end of the fundraising activity, as well as the total amount of funds raised. Initiatives can be supported either anonymously or by indicating one’s name.
