Russian Red Cross Enhancing Humanitarian Stock in Crimea and Sevastopol
      10.07.2026

The Russian Red Cross has allocated additional funds to strengthen emergency preparedness of its Crimea and Sevastopol regional branches. Stocks of humanitarian supplies are being accumulated in both regions to enable quick response as the need arises.

In the Republic of Crimea, humanitarian stocks currently include 800 food packages, 700 hygiene kits, 43 tons of drinking water and rehabilitation equipment such as wheelchairs, walking aids, canes and crutches.

A stock of 600 aid packages containing food items and hygiene kits have been prepositioned in Sevastopol and will be distributed starting next Monday. Those will be made available to people who have 1st and 2nd degree disability, were displaced in 2025 and 2026, and those who were resettled earlier but find themselves in а difficult situation.

Additionally, a water purification plant is being acquired for the city of Sevastopol to provide residents with drinking water if centralized water supply is interrupted. The water treatment system will be installed at the RRC Emergency Population Assistance Centre scheduled to open in Sevastopol on the 15 July. The same location will be used to distribute humanitarian aid and store backup batteries. In case of power failure people will be able to charge their mobile phones and other devices, use computers and a Wi-Fi connection.

Residents of Crimea and Sevastopol who experience anxiety can receive free psychological support from the Russian Red Cross. People seeking assistance can contact the RRC regional branches in Crimea and Sevastopol, call the Psychosocial Support Service hotline toll free at 8-800-250-18-59 (daily from 7 a.m to 10 p.m. Moscow time), or use the Telegram bot @psy_rrc_bot which operates daily from 9 a.m. to midnight Moscow time.

The Russian Red Cross continues to purchase humanitarian supplies for the regions, in particular a stock of drinking water and food. The regional branches are provided with relief supplies on a regular basis subject to the particulars of cargo logistics, delivery and storage. The Russian Red Cross continuously coordinates its work with regional authorities and relevant specialist services, monitors the humanitarian situation and stays prepared to quickly intensify assistance to the local population if the situation deteriorates.
