The Russian Red Cross (RRC) has delivered more than 11,000 items of specialized equipment and personal protective equipment to Tuapse (Krasnodar region) to support response operations addressing the emergency caused by an oil spill and contamination of the coastal area. All items have been handed over to the Tuapse district authorities.
In particular, tools for cleaning and collecting contaminated materials have been delivered to the affected area, including shovels and rakes, as well as over 5,000 waste collection bags. To ensure the safety of personnel involved in response operations, 2,000 respirators and 400 additional filter components were provided, along with 700 protective goggles, 1,000 pairs of gloves and 1,000 protective coveralls, as well as a protective skin cream to facilitate the removal of occupational contaminants.
The equipment provided will be used in cleaning contaminated areas to protect the health of personnel involved in response and recovery operations.
