Russian Red Cross Delivers a New Shipment of Humanitarian Aid to the Belgorod Region Amid Power Outage Risks
      19.02.2026

A significant shipment of humanitarian aid fr om the Russian Red Cross has been delivered to the Belgorod region, including over 2,000 units of household and specialized equipment, as well as autonomous heating and power supply devices.

The humanitarian supply included heat guns, power generators, portable power stations, thermal pots, routers, and power adapters. Additionally, 500 gas burners with cylinders, rescue blankets, and throws have been purchased — all of which can be quickly moved to the areas wh ere they are most needed. The regional warehouse of the Russian Red Cross has also stocked up on drinking water, fuels, and lubricants. In the coming days, several thousand more units of aid are expected to arrive, including sleeping bags, chemical light and heat sources, hand warmers, and household candles. The regional branch itself is ready to receive people at any time, providing tea, coffee, meals, and children’s relaxation kits.

"We hope that all this equipment will remain as a reserve and people will always have light and heat. However, we must be prepared for various scenarios to provide assistance within an hour or two. It is important for everyone in a difficult situation to know that they can come to a warm place, charge their phones, or give their children hot tea. We have delivered a large shipment of humanitarian aid today, but we will not stop there — we will continue to build up reserves in the region so that aid points can operate without interruption. This is primarily for families with children, for the elderly, and for those who have the most difficult time right now," noted Pavel Savchuk, President of the Russian Red Cross.

This humanitarian shipment marks the latest stage of comprehensive support for the residents of the Belgorod region. In early February, the Russian Red Cross delivered six mobile aid stations to the region. Equipped with heating and autonomous power systems, these units can be deployed and ready for operation within an hour. Furthermore, the mobile stations can be relocated to any municipality or city district as needed.

"We have long endured an incredibly challenging operational situation. With near-daily strikes on our borderlands, infrastructure is being damaged, leaving our citizens without power or heating. This latest major delivery from the Russian Red Cross — comprising over two thousand pieces of equipment and machinery — represents more than just material aid. It serves as a vital reminder that we are not alone. We are deeply grateful to the RRC for their steadfast support of our frontline region," noted Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of the Belgorod region.

For several years now, the Russian Red Cross has stood by the people of the Belgorod region. Its efforts include psychosocial support, distribution of food and hygiene packages, clothing, and vouchers for medicinal goods. To date, the Belgorod regional branch of the RRC has provided vital aid to over 142,000 local residents.
