Russian Red Cross (RRC) delivered over 30 tons of humanitarian aid to residents of the Orenburg region affected by floods. In particular, 11 tons of baby food and 20 tons of drinking water were delivered.
The water was delivered with the support of the METRO store chain. In addition with the support of the Charitable Foundation «Viruchaem» X5 Group, RRC delivered 1,100 pieces of furniture and sleep goods to Orsk for a total amount of 1.7 million rubles, including 200 beds, 700 mattresses and 200 pillows, which will be transferred to the temporary accommodation points. Also 32 units of electronics and household appliances were delivered to temporary accommodation points, and 1,000 food kits were given to the victims.
With the funds raised, within the framework of the work of the RRC Regional Branch of, certificates for clothes and shoes for schoolchildren are issued for a total amount of 10 million rubles for families with children from Orsk. Each family with school-age children will be able to purchase necessary goods worth 7,000 rubles. Certificates will be available for receipt from April 15 at the school to which the child is assigned and studying.

«Together with Russian Red Cross we agreed and opened an account in the region which receives support not only from the Orenburg region but also from other regions for which we thank the residents of our country. Cards and certificates have already been distributed to school principals who communicated with parents and families who need this help. RRC specialists also provide the necessary psychosocial support and psychological assistance on the hotline and face-to-face at the temporary accommodation points.
«We strive to support the psychological state of the victims. Our specialists work in the region and have currently provided assistance to more than 260 victims, conducting both group sessions and individual consultations in temporary accommodation points», said Pavel Savchuk.

The RRC Orenburg Regional Branch is also raising funds to help the victims. To date more than 29.6 million rubles have been collected to provide support to families affected by the natural disaster. These funds will be used to provide targeted assistance and support to the most vulnerable categories of victims of the natural disaster. In addition, the funds will be used to further equip temporary accommodation points and long-term accommodation, as well as to organize the delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid. To spend funds, a special commission has been created on the basis of the RRC Orenburg Regional Branch to ensure the effective use of charitable donations and the provision of transparent reporting.
