The Russian Red Cross (RRC), the oldest humanitarian organisation in the country, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Artek International Children's Centre. The document provides for the exchange of experience and joint work in the field of organising recreation and health rehabilitation for children.
The relevant document was signed by Pavel Savchuk, President of the Russian Red Cross, and Konstantin Fedorenko, Director of the Artek International Children's Centre.
"This agreement is an important step in strengthening our cooperation in the field of education and upbringing of young people. We continue the historically established traditions and want to inspire the younger generation to care for others, give them knowledge about the history of the Red Cross movement and volunteerism in Russia. We aim not only to broaden the horizons of children and teenagers, but also to involve them in volunteering in order to form responsible citizens and active participants in public life," shared Pavel Savchuk, President of the Russian Red Cross.
The agreement envisages joint implementation of projects in education and upbringing aimed at civic formation of adolescents, development of additional general development programmes, as well as exchange of experience in infrastructure and improvement of the quality of services for children.
"The Russian Red Cross and Artek are historically connected, as the founder of the Country of Childhood was Zinovy Solovyov, the chairman of the Executive Committee of the Russian Red Cross. Our collaboration will open new horizons for Artek participants, allowing them to acquire knowledge and skills that will be essential in the future. I am confident that the partnership program will not only enrich the students' knowledge but also inspire them to actively participate in the country's public life and assist those in need. Together, we take an important step in the development of civil society and the formation of civic responsibility," noted Konstantin Fedorenko, the director of the Artek International Children's Center.
The structure of cooperation provides for active participation of the Russian Red Cross in the organisation and coordination of activities aimed at developing intellectual, creative and applied abilities of students. Mutual exchange of experience and information on the results of co-operation will contribute to effective interaction, strengthening partnerships and achieving common goals.
"The additional general education programme "Red Cross Children's Academy 2.0" is scheduled for October 2024. Last year, our first thematic shift was successfully held in the camp, to which we received very positive and inspiring feedback from the participants. Our programme is primarily aimed at developing the children's intellectual and creative abilities, as well as an overview of the volunteer path we offer them to follow. This is an opportunity for children not only to gain new knowledge, but also to become active participants in positive changes in society, introducing the values of humanism and the principles of volunteering into their lives," said the President of the Russian Red Cross.
In addition, the parties agreed to hold joint events at the ArtekInternational Children's Centre. This includes various areas of educational, scientific, educational and volunteer activities. Joint initiatives are aimed at creating a favourable educational environment and unlocking the potential of future leaders and citizens of a responsible society.
Thus, combining the main areas of cooperation and the structure of interaction opens up promising opportunities for the Russian Red Cross and the Artek International Children's Centre for joint efforts in the formation of a quality educational environment and the upbringing of a new generation.
